Denise Marion-Quinlan is the current President of OPSEU Local 475 and a Medical Laboratory Technologist with over 25 years of experience working in a wide range of laboratory settings, from large hospitals to small community sites.
Prior to assuming the role of Local President, Denise worked at both Queensway Carleton Hospital and Winchester District Memorial Hospital, giving her firsthand insight into the diverse challenges faced by members across different workplaces. Throughout her career, she has held several roles within Local 475, each helping her develop the leadership, advocacy, and communication skills needed to effectively represent and support the membership.
As President, Denise is committed to strong representation, informed advocacy, and ensuring that the voices of Local 475 members are heard and respected.

Carissa Kohnen is one of the Vice-Presidents of the OPSEU/SEFPO Local 475 covering the central laboratories. She has been a Medical Laboratory Technologist since 2018 and has worked in both clinical and research laboratories. She is currently employed as the Charge Technologist of Queensway Carleton Hospital's core lab. She has served as a steward for OPSEU Local 475 since 2022, and has since developed a deep passion for educating and empowering employees. With her mind constantly focused on the future of Healthcare in Ontario, Carissa is committed to helping Local 475's members seek resolutions to workplace conflicts and find satisfaction in their careers.
